Squirrel Scouts (or just “Squirrels”) is the youngest section of the UK Scout Association, for 4 to 6-year-olds, introducing them to scouting fun, games, and skills for life in short, weekly sessions called “Dreys,” helping them develop confidence, friendships, and essential abilities before moving to Beavers at age six. They learn through outdoor activities, stories, and earning badges, focusing on personal growth and a simple promise, with red neckerchiefs and jumpers.

All of our leaders are trained volunteers, working to make sure Scouting is safe, inclusive and accessible. Some lead the Colony week in and week out. Others visit occasionally to help run a session or drop in to share their skills. No matter how much time you have to spare, find out about volunteering on your own terms.
